Celebrate Lent - Day 30

 Today’s Scripture:      Joshua 1:7

Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses, My servant, commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

On to the Goal

God is now giving His instructions to Joshua who has become the leader of God’s people after the death of Moses. He reminds Joshua of the law which God gave to Moses and helps Joshua to understand the importance of keeping the goal before the people: ”turn not from it to the right hand or to the left.”  God had promised to give His people the land of Caanan, but they would have to go in and possess it.

Goals are wonderful things.  They help to keep us focused on what is most important.  They are not achieved without work and sacrifice. With God’s help, worthy goals are worth the effort.

Help me to make goals that are worthy of my time and sacrifice.
