An Eye into Angola

Here’s a recent message from the Doty’s in Angola:

“As many of you know, we had been in much prayer about our return to Angola to work with the church here and are thankful that God has opened a door for both of us to return.  We have been fortunate to have a place to stay with some friends and we grateful that they have opened their home to us. Our need now is to acquire a car to enable us to commute and work at the church. We are dependent on others for transportation of the 20km to the church in Viana.”

Let join in prayer for Jim and Ducli so that they can acquire the transportation they need to continue their mission work in Angola.

Celebrate Lent - Day 21

For the third test, the devil took Him [Jesus] to the peak of a huge mountain.  He gestured expansively, pointing out all the earth’s kingdoms, how glorious they all were.  Then he said, “they’re Yours – lock, stock and barrel.  Just go down on Your knees and worship me, and they’re Yours.”  Jesus’ refusal was curt: “Beat it, Satan!” He backed His rebuke with a third quotation from Deuteronomy: “Worship the Lord your God, and only Him.  Serve Him with absolute single-heartedness.” The test was over. The devil left.  (The Message)

Pretty Packages

Satan made quite an offer – everything Jesus could want – but when you really think about, those things were never Satan’s to give.

He uses that same lie on us today.  Remember that there is nothing of any value that Satan can offer, regardless of its pretty packaging, because he is only the King of Lies.  You serve the King of Light!

Dear Father of Light –
Shine on me so that I can see Your truth
and shine through me that I might light the way for others.
